Welcome to the Bowling Green State University (BGSU) Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) site. This is where you will find everything you need to know to participate in the online learning community.  You can sign up for the community here. 

There will be four topics covered across the 2013 / 2014 school year. Two topics will be explored each semester and there will be a variety of activities aligned to each of the topics. 

Below are the topics we will be exploring.

1. BUILDING BLOCKS FOR SUCCESS
   We will look at the building blocks for success for student learning (e.g. parent guardian agreements, responsible use policy, assessment) with their own devices and the five-step plan to harness the power of these devices for student learning. Label: Building blocks

2. EQUITY AND ACCESS-FOR-ALL We will look at ways to ensure all students have learning equity and access to devices as well as the resources, sites, and apps necessary to plan successful across platforms.

3. CULTIVATING A CULTURE OF COMMUNITY We will look at the key components of cultivating a professional learning community and personal learning network using the most popular tools today including Twitter, Facebook, Blogger, and Google Hangout. Label: Community culture

4. MANAGING THE BYOD CLASSROOM
   We will look at best practices for managing and maintaining devices including establishing a student support team.
